Biochemistry Department Gains International Recognition
Dr. Colter a native to Alberta, has contributed to Alberta science and technology extensively. He received his Bachelor of Science from the University of Alberta with Honours in 1945 and a PhD from McGill University in 1951. Early in his career, he established an international reputation in the field of biochemical virology.
In 1961, Dr. Colter returned to Alberta as Chairman of the Department of Biochemistry at the University of Alberta. Over the next 26 years his vision and uncompromising standards of excellence resulted in a Biochemistry Department that is recognized internationally for its high standards of teaching and scientific research.
