Initiative: Real-Time Biosensor for Crop Disease Forecasting
Dr. Li develops real-time, in-field crop disease surveillant technology, a biosensor technology, for crop protection. This technology involves automation and cellular and IT technology for daily transmission of crop disease pathogen spore level to end users for timely disease control to reduce yield loss for crop producers. This technology eliminates the unnecessary use of fungicides and, therefore, reduces the environmental footprint. Dr. Li received a US patent on this technology.
